The foodprint exercise upsets me because I eat a lot of Avocados and Bananas, neither of which can be sourced locally as far as I know. How can I live without guac and smoothies?

I was able to receive a free eco nest thermostat through energy trust of Oregon that we just had installed with a new high efficiency furnace. I like to watch and see how it learns our daily patterns and builds a schedule around them.

Hydro power is a major factor in the NW. I often wonder how this impacts the river systems and the effort it takes to mitigate those impacts.
