It been a great month everyone

As it gets close to the end, I plan on remembering to help even after this challenge some longer term things. Things I plan do this year is grow a garden or visit a farmer market.

Did you know that approximately 92 million tons of textile waste are dumped in landfills globally each year, equivalent to one garbage truck full of clothes every second. This amount is projected to reach 134 million tonnes annually by 2030.

I grew up wearing hand me downs, I think this is a good way to cut down on the clothing consumption. Offering someone the clothes you don't want anymore is a great way to share the love of fashion while keeping the planet healthy. Also, it's always good to look into the brand you are buying from to see what they are doing to help our planet and not buying into fast fashion brands that create a large amount of waste.

Went for walk with my family this weekend. What did you do to enjoy the earth this weekend?

It's finally starting to feel like summer, that means fun with the family. Check out the link below to find a bunch of cool crafts that you can do with recycled materials.

• 2/3 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup fresh blueberries, plus more for garnish
• 1 packed cup (1 oz.) basil sprigs, plus small sprigs for garnish
• 3/4 cup fresh lime juice (from 6 to 8 limes)
• Ice
• Lime wedges, for garnish

1. Bring sugar, 1/2 cup water, and blueberries to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium, stirring often to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat; smash blueberries with a fork. Add basil, and stir until submerged. Let blueberry-basil syrup stand at room temperature until mixture is cool, about 20 minutes. Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a small pitcher; discard solids. Stir in lime juice and 3 cups water. Serve over ice, and garnish with small basil sprigs and blueberries.
